Rostello Flame-Roasted Richness
Rostello Roasted Ham and Sweet Onion Tart
Ingredients:

• 8 frozen 3 1/2-inch pastry shells
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 2 cups diced sweet onions
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 3 egg yolks
• 3/4 cup (6 oz.) diced Rostello
Roasted Ham
• Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

2. Separate frozen pastry shells and allow to thaw at room temperature for 20 minutes. Poke bottom and sides with fork and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

3. While shells are baking, heat oil in a 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onions to pan; cook, stirring very frequently. Be careful not to let onions brown; cook until just tender.

4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cream and yolks. Gradually add onions to cream mixture, whisking constantly. Add Rostello Roasted Ham to cream mixture and pour back into saucepan.

5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a rubber spatula, being sure to scrape sides and surface of pan. Cook until mixture just thickens about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add salt and pepper.

6. Spoon mixture into pastry shells. Bake in 375°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and custard is set. Remove from pastry tins and serve warm.
